Our mission
Love Jesus,
Love People,
Love Chicago.
To make disciples who love God, love people, and seek the good of the city. We are a diverse people united in Christ.
Our values
Who we are becoming
We are a gospel-formed people: rooted in Jesus Christ, shaped in diverse community, and sent to seek the good of the city for the glory of God.
Rooted
We are grounded in the gospel and the global, historic Church.
Diverse
We are a reconciled people in Christ.
Bountiful
We give joyfully from the abundance we’ve received.
Flourishing
We seek the renewal of our neighbors and our city.
Reproducing
We multiply disciples, leaders, and churches.
Why “Garden City”?
The story of Scripture culminates in the Garden City, where He dwells with His people in perfect peace.
Chicago’s motto is “City in a Garden.” Join God’s work of renewal as we plant a church that displays the glory of God for the good of Chicago.
First visit
New here?
Here’s what you can expect on a Sunday morning at Garden City Church.
What is service like?
We seek for our services to be centered around the Scriptures and worshipping Jesus Christ. You’ll find a variety of music styles and a variety of ways to engage in worship through the reading, preaching, praying, and singing of the Word. We also regularly practice the Lord’s Supper (Communion) as a congregation. Our services are roughly 1 hour and 30 mins.
What time is the service?
We gather for worship at 9:30am. Plan to arrive a few minutes early if you would like to grab a cup of coffee or drop younger children off at Garden City Kids (Infant–Kindergarten).
Where do I park?
There is a parking lot available at 6108 S Winchester Ave (west side of the building). Use our address in Maps to reach the parking lot; there are several one-way streets, so be sure to take Damen to 61st. FREE street parking is also available on the surrounding streets.
What do I wear?
We hope you’ll feel comfortable wearing what you normally wear; some people will wear a tie, and others a tee!
Are there activities for my kids?
Yes! We have children’s programming for infants through Kindergarten. Our volunteer team provides a safe, caring environment and shares Gospel-centered stories and activities in age-accessible ways. All Garden City Kids volunteers have been screened and passed a background check. Children 1st grade and older are invited to worship with their families, with age-accessible activities to engage with the sermon.
